Families First Transitional Housing
Purpose
Families First Transitional Housing Program is a program designed to restore and unite traditional families in times of crises in Guilford County, North Carolina. It's purpose is to provide emergency housing while educating and empowering families to sustain healthy relationships as well as teaching them how to overcome barriers such as poverty, abuse, domestic violence and illiteracy.
Time-Frame
A family can live in the transition house for a maximum of 12 months, which is equivalent to 1 year. Financial assistance is provided for up to 90 days, allowing the parents the opportunity to become employed, when unemployment is a barrier.
Requirements
Eligibility criteria includes maintaining residency in Guilford County and income at or below the federal poverty guidelines.
